So, you’ve decided to host a pizza party? Here’s everything you need to know in order to make it a wonderful experience!
$100 Stipend: You’ll be hosting ~20 hungry swimmers / divers, drinks and snacks are essential! To help with this cost, the booster club will cover up to $100 of food and drink items purchased. Save your receipts and submit them to communications@jeffersonboysswimdive.org.
Pizza Funding: Each swimmer / diver will bring $5.00 cash to cover the pizza. Several local chains have a ~$10 carryout special, this means two swimmers / divers effectively share the cost of one pizza.
Buddy System & Orders: Upon arrival, have captains collect the $5.00 cash from each swimmer. They should also pair up "buddies" and note down their pizza preferences. You will place the orders
Payment Flexibility: Be prepared for some parents to offer to Venmo the $5.00 instead of sending cash.
Pizza Order: Plan for around 20-25 attendees and order large, 1-topping pizzas. Domino's has had a $9.99 large 1 topping carryout special for several years. Remember that a large order might take some time, so factor that into your schedule.
Beverages: Swimmer/ divers arrive hungry and thirsty after practice. Expect them to consume 3-4 beverages each. You'll need a lot of drinks like soda, water, Gatorade, and Capri Suns.
Snacks: Provide a variety of snacks. Veggies, cookies, and chips are great options that have been popular in the past.
Games: Set out a variety of board games. Chess, Clue, and card games have been big hits!
Console Gaming: If you have a console available, that can be a popular option.
Movies: Movies or TV shows are also common activities.
Variety: Different kids enjoy different activities, having several available helps provide different opportunities!
Arrival: Swimmers / divers should plan to arrive around 6:00 PM, fresh from practice and ready to eat. Be prepared for a few early birds.
Departure: The party typically wraps up by 8:30 PM.
By following these guidelines, you'll be well-prepared to host an enjoyable pizza party! If you have any further questions, feel free to post to the parent GroupMe chat, to take advantage of other’s experiences, or email communications@jeffersonboysswimdive.org.
